Register your landline or mobile for free to stop receiving sales calls and messages. Companies have up to 30 days to stop contacting you; if they continue, you can report them on the same site.

For threats, extortion or a fake kidnapping, hang up and call 911.

Evidence to keep

The full number that called you, with date and time (a screenshot of your call log).
The company name, if they gave one, and what they offered or asked for.
Screenshots of SMS or WhatsApp messages and, if possible, a recording.
If you paid: receipts, account numbers and transfer details.
