How to report calls in Mexico

Unwanted marketing and fraud are reported to different places. This guide tells you where to go in Mexico and what to send so your report is useful.

Where to report

PROFECO – REPEP

Register your number for free in the REPEP (Public Registry to Avoid Advertising) so companies stop making marketing calls to you. If they keep calling after you register, file a complaint on the same site.

CONDUSEF

If the call came from a bank, lender or debt collector harassing you, file a complaint with CONDUSEF.

911 / 089

For extortion or a "virtual kidnapping", hang up and call 911. Anonymous reports go to 089.

Evidence to keep

The full number that called you, with date and time (a screenshot of your call log).
The company name, if they gave one, and what they offered or asked for.
Screenshots of SMS or WhatsApp messages and, if possible, a recording.
If you paid: receipts, account numbers and transfer details.
