How to block calls in Venezuela

You don't need to install anything: Android, iPhone and WhatsApp already let you block numbers and filter spam. These are the steps.

Android

Open the Phone app and go to Recents.
Tap the number, then the three dots or "Details".
Choose "Block" or "Block/report spam".

To filter more spam, go to Phone › Settings › Caller ID & spam and turn on "Filter spam calls". The names of the menus change a little between brands.

iPhone

Open Phone › Recents and tap the "i" next to the number.
Scroll down and tap "Block this Caller".

To send all unknown numbers straight to voicemail, go to Settings › Phone › Silence Unknown Callers.

Open the chat, tap the contact name and choose "Block" (you can also "Report"). In Settings › Privacy › Calls you can silence calls from unknown numbers.

Beyond blocking

FAQ

Does the other person know I blocked them?

No. They don't get a notice; their calls simply don't reach you.

Can I block private or hidden numbers?

On iPhone, "Silence Unknown Callers" also silences them. On many Android phones there is a "Block unknown/private numbers" option in the Phone settings.
